Banyan Roots Therapy | Seattle
The banyan tree holds deep symbolic significance across many cultures, representing concepts such as strength, growth, stability, interconnectedness, restoration, and healing. Its unique growth habit, where aerial roots descend from the branches to become new, supportive trunks, is seen as a powerful metaphor for resilience and the passing of strength and wisdom from generation to generation.

Frequently asked questions
EFT is an evidence-base approach to couples therapy, it prioritizes emotional experience as the primary driver of therapeutic change. The central goal of EFT is to help you and your partner identify and reshape your emotional patterns that keep you "stuck". EFT is an experiential model, and I will facilitate engagements between you and your partner to cultivate corrective emotional experiences throughout our work together, in order to support you in reconnecting and repairing. Couples Intensives are multi-hour, highly focused sessions designed for accelerated progress. They are helpful when you are in high conflict, navigating betrayal trauma, facing a major decision, or have limited weekly availability. Typical options range from 3 to 6 hours with breaks. The work moves through assessment, cycle mapping, and de-escalation at depth, then into focused repair and specific rituals for reconnection. Intensives are most often in-person due to the emotional and physical demand, with Telehealth considered case by case. Many couples pair an intensive with follow-up weekly or biweekly sessions to integrate new patterns. Learn more about Couples Intensives here.
I graduated with the Sex Therapy Certificate and I'm working towards certification for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as well. The combination of both trainings has offered me the skill set to effectively support couples in reconnecting emotionally and physically, as well as repairing and healing from attachment wounds. Additionally, I have both lived and clinical experience with inter-racial/cross-cultural relationships and queer relationship, which provides me the cultural effectiveness in working with these populations. If you are in an inter-racial/cross-cultural relationship; if you're part of the 2SLGBTQIS+ community, I would love to support you and your relationship! I am an out-of-network (OON) provider and not paneled with any insurance companies. Many insurance plans offer OON benefits, giving you the flexibility to choose the therapist that best suits you. Contact your insurance provider to verify your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement process.
For couples therapy, some insurance policies provide OON coverage with the diagnosis code for relationship distress (Z63.0). If you’d like to use your OON benefits, please verify with your insurance provider before reaching out to me. Learn more about what to ask your insurance company here.
