About Youran Zhang 张悠然, MA, LMFTA
I earned my MA in Psychology, with emphases on Marriage & Family Therapy and Sex Therapy, from Antioch University in Seattle. Before attending graduate school, my professional background includes experience supporting adolescents and adults in residential treatment centers and partial hospitalization programs.
I specialize in collaborating with individual adults and couples as they navigate and strengthen their relationships with themselves and others. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive space where clients can heal and grow.
I'm currently under supervision and working towards full licensure, which means my clients are benefiting from both my and my supervisor's expertise. I'm under the supervision of Anne Mauro, who is a renowned, AASECT certified Sex Therapist.

Therapeutic Approach
I am a person-centered therapist who seeks to work with clients collaboratively to identify areas of strengths and areas of growth. I believe you are the person who knows yourself the best, and that you have the power and agency to make the changes you want in your life, and I am here to guide you and support you as needed.
I am an immigrant who also identifies as Asian, gender-fluid and queer. The intersectionality of my identities provide a unique perspective that allows me to effectively support the mental health needs of marginalized communities. I am especially passionate about working with interracial couples, queer couples, and immigrant families.
I utilize and blend Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my sessions.
